About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a residential location in Rockaway, New Jersey. The officer will safeguard the community by managing access points, verifying credentials, issuing badges, and keeping accurate visitor records. The role also involves maintaining a visible presence, providing professional customer service to residents and guests, and helping deter security-related incidents. The position pays $19.00 per hour and is scheduled Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 12:15 a.m., Saturday from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., and Sunday from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of security-related experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation, consistent with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and vendors by following access-control procedures and site-specific policies, and by participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify guest and service-provider authorization, and maintain visitor and vehicle access records.
- Respond calmly to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters to appropriate personnel when needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, parking locations, entry points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Report security concerns, unusual activity, maintenance issues, and policy violations according to site procedures.
- Manage entry points, verify credentials, and issue badges.
