About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Armed Security Officer in North Charleston, South Carolina, serving an educational setting. The officer will help safeguard students, faculty, staff, and visitors by maintaining a visible presence, patrolling campus areas, monitoring access, and responding to security-related needs. The role is scheduled Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at a rate of $23.75 per hour. The officer will deliver professional customer service, follow campus-specific policies and security procedures, and respond to incidents and emergencies according to established protocols. The role requires an armed guard card or license and one of several listed education, military, or academy credentials. Applicants must be at least 21 years old for armed roles and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is subject to background investigation and, where permitted by law, drug screening. Industry-specific security training is required.

Requirements

Possess an armed guard card or license.
Possess a DD214 with an honorable discharge, an associate degree, 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

CPR certification is preferred.
CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following security procedures and campus-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following established reporting and escalation protocols.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
Maintain daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs in accordance with company and site requirements.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
