About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer Enhanced for an assigned aerospace and defense site in Rochester, New York. The position offers a fixed weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Extra shifts may provide opportunities to work up to 40 hours per week, with flexibility to scale back. The stated pay rate is $17.75 per hour. The listed schedule is Friday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, consistent with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• A guard card or license.
• Customer service experience.
• Access control or badge experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency-response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas; report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Monitor access to restricted areas by verifying credentials, observing visitor and contractor activity, and following entry and escort procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, and communicate observations promptly to appropriate site contacts and emergency responders.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation according to company and site requirements.
