About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced for an assigned site in Gilroy, California. The position provides a designated weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Hours may vary from part-time to as many as 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The listed pay rate is $25.00 per hour. The posted schedule is Monday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

The officer provides customer service while carrying out security procedures and site policies. Duties include responding calmly to incidents, conducting unarmed patrols, monitoring access points, assisting visitors, patients, and staff, and documenting and communicating observations and incidents. The role may require coordination with hospital staff and emergency personnel.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies while providing customer service to clients.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach, coordinating with hospital staff and emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout assigned areas and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist visitors, patients, and staff with directions while remaining aware of security-related conditions.
• Complete accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
