Security Officer Part Time - Global Shipping Company
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Awareness for an assigned site in New York, NY. The position provides a fixed weekly anchor shift, with a six-month commitment, and the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Additional shifts may allow hours to vary up to 40 per week, with the ability to scale back. The listed schedule is Saturday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM. Pay is $17.00–$18.00 per hour. The officer provides customer service and carries out site security procedures and policies, conducts unarmed patrols, monitors access, responds to incidents, and documents and reports security concerns. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local regulations.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, delivery personnel, and visitors while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of distribution facilities, loading docks, trailer areas, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations to identify unusual activity or conditions.
- Monitor site access by verifying credentials, directing authorized visitors and drivers, and documenting entries and exits according to site procedures.
- Respond calmly and constructively to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify site contacts or emergency responders as directed.
- Observe and report security concerns, property damage, suspicious activity, and policy violations through clear, timely written reports.
