About The Position

KRE Security, LLC is hiring a dependable, full-time Gate Security Officer for a permanent overnight assignment in Reading, Pennsylvania. The role focuses on access control, facility monitoring, and maintaining a professional security presence in a structured gatehouse environment. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Pay is $17.00 per hour. Paid training is provided, and overtime may be available. The position offers long-term assignment potential, clear post orders, supportive supervision, and opportunities for advancement within KRE Security.

PTO accrual of up to 40 hours begins after a 60-day probationary period. Blue Cross health insurance for the employee only is available after a 60-day probationary period. The employer also lists free uniforms, vision and dental insurance, and a 401(k) among its benefits.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods.
• Ability to sit, stand, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must pass a background check.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required.

• Security experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access at the facility gate.
• Verify identification for employees, visitors, and vendors.
• Approve or deny entry based on site protocols.
• Maintain accurate logs of incoming and outgoing traffic.
• Communicate professionally with visitors and personnel.
• Conduct periodic checks of the gate area and surrounding property.
• Observe, report, and document safety or security concerns.
• Respond to incidents or unusual activity according to post orders.
• Complete daily activity and incident reports using assigned systems.
• Maintain a professional appearance and customer service mindset.
