About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for a vehicle patrol driving post at a utilities location in Roanoke, Virginia. The officer will safeguard the site through routine patrols, a visible security presence, monitoring assigned areas, and providing customer service and communication. A valid driver’s license is required for this driving position. The schedule is 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM on Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The pay rate is $17.50 per hour.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing may be required before employment, subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and utility operations staff by following site-specific security procedures and policies and, when appropriate, carrying out emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
Monitor access to assigned locations, verify credentials as directed, and document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity according to site procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and complete required reports.
Maintain accurate daily activity logs and incident documentation, and communicate observations or concerns to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
