About The Position

Seeking experienced construction security officers for fire-watch duties. We have both part-time and full-time openings in downtown Phoenix. The part-time role is for Saturday nights for a temporary period of 4-6 weeks, requiring immediate start. The full-time role is for a fire-watch/security position on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays each week, from 5 PM to 5 AM. The shift end time may vary between 2 AM and 5 AM, depending on when the construction crew arrives in the morning, typically resulting in a 9-12 hour shift. This role involves working outdoors at a construction site, requiring vigilance against theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry, including managing interactions with homeless individuals with respect and care. Responsibilities include performing fire watch duties, conducting security patrols, monitoring gates and fence lines, reporting site issues, and maintaining detailed reports using Silvertrac. The position requires the ability to work alone, handle high-stress situations, and adhere to safety protocols, including wearing provided safety gear like a hard hat and vest.

Requirements

  • Experience in construction security.
  • Experience in firewatch duties.
  • Must have a current AZ guard card.
  • Must be able to work alone at night.
  • Must be in good physical shape/fit.
  • Ability to walk stairs, up and down, a few times a shift.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations.
  • Ability to handle difficult people.
  • Must wear hardhat and safety vest at all times while on duty.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of safety and OSHA standards for construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fire-watch duties on a construction site.
  • Conduct security patrols, including walking stairs and fence lines.
  • Monitor gates and fence lines to prevent unauthorized entry.
  • Watch for fires, pipe leaks, theft, vandalism, and other emergencies.
  • Manage and interact with homeless individuals respectfully.
  • Use Silvertrac for Daily Activity Reports (DARs), hourly patrols, and incident reports.
  • Respond to site phone calls.
  • Call 911, police, fire, or ambulance as needed.
  • Ensure safety and adhere to OSHA standards for construction sites.
  • Work alone at night with minimal supervision.
