About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed Security Officer to patrol and observe a government services location in Arverne, New York. The role involves safeguarding the site, maintaining a visible presence, supporting a welcoming and professional environment, and providing customer service to visitors, clients, and personnel. The officer monitors access points, conducts interior and exterior patrols, responds professionally to security-related situations, and documents and communicates observations and incidents. The position pays $18.87 per hour and follows a daytime schedule, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

- A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, clients, and personnel by following site-specific procedures and security protocols.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials as required, and document visitor, employee, and contractor activity according to site policies.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel or emergency responders when needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, public spaces, offices, and perimeter areas.
- Prepare clear and accurate reports of observations, incidents, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
