About The Position

As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government location in Jamaica, NY, you will safeguard clients by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible security presence, and assisting visitors and staff professionally. The role involves routine rounds, observing and reporting concerns, and providing customer service and clear communication. Work is full-time, with a stated pay rate of $18.87 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements; licensing may be required prior to employment.

A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government services location while carrying out site-specific security procedures.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established protocols.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, building entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points, observe visitor and employee activity, and report unusual conditions or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and other documentation in accordance with site procedures.
