Security Officer Full Time City Agency
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed patrol Security Officer to support a government services location in New York, NY. The officer will help safeguard the site by patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, monitoring access, and reporting security-related concerns. The role also involves providing professional customer service and clear communication to help maintain a welcoming environment. The schedule is Monday and Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The pay rate is $18.87 per hour. Applicants must have at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience, be at least 18 years old for an unarmed role, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is contingent on applicable background investigation and drug screening requirements. Licensing may be required under state or local laws. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or agency personnel by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of agency buildings, entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access points, verify visitor authorization as required, and remain aware of people entering and departing the location.
- Complete activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation accurately and promptly.
