About The Position

The Security Officer maintains the overall security of the assigned facility by enforcing access control and observing, correcting, and reporting violations of applicable rules and regulations. The officer is expected to integrate Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork into daily work. The role pays $18.00 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Work takes place in a climate-controlled building and/or outdoors in varying weather conditions. The position requires extensive walking, standing, and sitting and may involve threatening situations or exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids. The officer must be able to lift 50 pounds. Uniform and grooming rules require tattoos to be covered, prohibit tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands, require facial piercings to be removed while on duty, and require clean-shaven facial hair except for a mustache, with clean, neatly trimmed, naturally colored hair.

Continued employment depends on passing a criminal background check, a clean motor vehicle record check if driving, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school graduate or GED recipient.
• Demonstrate service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
• Exercise patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with people.
• Use initiative and sound judgment when evaluating and responding to situations.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful, time-sensitive situations.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision, read and comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Pass a criminal background check, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens; pass a clean MVR check if driving.
• Comply with uniform and grooming requirements, including covering tattoos, removing facial piercings while on duty, and maintaining the specified facial-hair and hair standards.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement.
• Proficiency with MS Office programs (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
• Document security activity in a Daily Activity Report and complete incident reports as required.
• Control vehicle and personnel access according to established procedures.
• Respond to emergency situations according to established procedures.
• Operate specialized equipment as needed, including closed-circuit television systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
• Identify projects to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• Enforce Sizemore’s and the client’s policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
