About The Position

The Security Officer maintains the overall security of an assigned facility by enforcing access control and observing, correcting, and reporting violations of applicable rules and regulations. The officer is expected to integrate Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork into daily work. The position pays $18.00 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Work takes place in a climate-controlled building and/or outdoors in varying weather conditions. The role involves extensive walking, standing, and sitting, and may involve threatening situations or exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids. The officer must be able to lift 50 pounds. Continued employment depends on passing a criminal background check, a clean MVR check if driving, employment verification, and pre-employment and random drug screens. Uniform and grooming requirements apply, including restrictions on visible tattoos and facial piercings, and standards for facial hair and hair color.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school graduate or GED recipient.
• Demonstrate service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
• Show patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with others.
• Use initiative and sound judgment to evaluate and react to situations.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful and time-sensitive situations.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision, read and comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement.
• Proficiency with MS Office programs; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
• Document security activity in a Daily Activity Report (DAR) and complete incident reports as required.
• Control vehicle and personnel access in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to emergency situations in accordance with established procedures.
• Operate specialized equipment as needed, including Closed-Circuit Television Systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
• Identify projects to improve effectiveness and efficiency and support a culture of continuous improvement.
• Enforce Sizemore’s and the client’s policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
