About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed patrol officer at a technology, media, and telecommunications location in Suffolk, Virginia. The officer will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, help deter security-related incidents, and support access control. The role emphasizes customer service, clear communication, and maintaining a welcoming environment. The schedule is Thursday and Sunday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM. Pay is $19.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable licensing requirements; a license may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by following security procedures and site-specific policies, and carrying out emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including building entrances, parking areas, perimeter locations, and common spaces; identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report access-control concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following post orders and escalation procedures.
• Accurately document patrols, incidents, observations, and daily activities in required reports, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
