About The Position

American Security & Investigations is hiring an experienced Security Officer to help protect buildings and facilities in the West Des Moines and Des Moines, Iowa communities. The role is described as essential and customer-service-focused. Duties include patrolling buildings, facilities, or work sites; investigating and reporting hazards or suspicious circumstances; securing doors and windows; enforcing rules and regulations; and responding to alarms.

The posting lists multiple full-time and part-time schedules. Full-time schedules are Fri–Sun 5 p.m.–1 a.m. and Mon–Tue 9 p.m.–5 a.m. (Patrol); Mon–Fri 4:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.; Sat–Wed 11 p.m.–7 a.m.; and Mon–Fri 6:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Part-time schedules are Mon–Fri 5 a.m.–9 a.m. (Dock Officer); Mon–Fri 6 a.m.–10 a.m.; Sat and Sun 7 a.m.–3 p.m.; and Sat 11:45 p.m.–8:45 a.m. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required for two of the listed schedules.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Must be able to speak English for safety reasons.
• Must complete a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements, including walking and patrolling, climbing stairs, and performing CPR.
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required for certain schedules.
