About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer for an assigned site in Reston, Virginia. The role provides a fixed weekly schedule at a designated site, with a six-month commitment to the assigned shifts. In addition to those anchor shifts, the employee may claim extra shifts through the company scheduling platform, including opportunities to work up to 40 hours per week and later scale back. Pay is $21.00 per hour.

The officer provides customer service to clients and visitors, follows security procedures and site policies, responds to incidents, conducts unarmed patrols at technology-focused office locations, monitors and reports unusual activity, and supports access control and recordkeeping procedures.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for an unarmed role.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and use problem-solving skills when addressing incidents, access-related concerns, and critical situations.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout technology-focused office locations, including business areas, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor and report unusual activity, facility concerns, and policy violations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Support access control procedures by verifying visitor credentials, maintaining accurate activity logs, and following site-specific protocols.
