About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed Security Officer for an assigned site in Burlington, New Jersey. The position has fixed anchor shifts on Friday and Saturday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, requiring a six-month commitment. Officers may claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform and can build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week. The pay rate is $17.00 per hour.

The role provides security and customer service to shoppers, store associates, and visitors at a retail site. Duties include conducting patrols, responding to incidents, monitoring for suspicious activity and hazards, assisting with access control, and documenting observations and security-related activity. Employment is contingent on applicable background investigation and drug screening requirements.

Requirements

• At least two years of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Complete a background investigation, subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Complete a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, store associates, and visitors while following security procedures and site-specific policies, and perform emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, escalating concerns according to site-specific procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the retail sales floor, entrances, exits, stock areas, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, potential loss-prevention concerns, and hazards, and report observations to store leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Assist with access control and visitor interactions.
• Document incidents, observations, and security-related activities in accordance with site procedures.
