About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Armed Access Control Officer for a transportation location in Jacksonville, Florida. The officer will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and conduct routine patrols to help deter incidents. The role includes providing customer service and clear communication while supporting a professional, welcoming environment. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The pay rate is $18.50 per hour.

Requirements

Certified Protection Officer certification.
Armed guard card or license.
At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a transportation facility.
Control access to rail operations areas, facilities, and restricted locations by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and following site-specific entry procedures.
Monitor access points, gates, and surrounding activity, and report unauthorized access attempts, suspicious activity, and maintenance concerns according to established protocols.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, coordinating with site personnel and/or emergency responders as appropriate.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, rail yard access areas, parking locations, and perimeter boundaries to help deter unauthorized activity.
