About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed Security Officer for a retail location in New York, NY. The officer will serve and safeguard clients in a retail setting, maintain a visible presence, patrol assigned areas, support access control, and provide customer service to shoppers, team members, and visitors. The role includes responding professionally to security concerns and carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The pay rate is $19.48 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is conditional on applicable background and drug screening. Security licensing may be required under state or local law.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be 21 or older.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and local laws and may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to customers, team members, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a retail grocery location.
Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters in accordance with site procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store, parking areas, loading areas, and perimeter to identify and report security-related concerns.
Monitor access points and observe activity within the location to help deter theft, unauthorized access, and disruptive behavior.
Accurately document incidents, observations, and policy violations, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
