About The Position

As a part-time unarmed patrol officer supporting a utility location in Oakland, California, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to alarms and access-control needs, and provide customer service. You will communicate with employees, visitors, contractors, vendors, and other partners while helping maintain a secure environment. The schedule listed is Tuesday and Friday, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM.

Requirements

At least 2 years of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
State or local licensing may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
CPR certification.
Experience with alarm panels.
Experience with access control and/or badge systems.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors by following site-specific security procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency-response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to identify unusual conditions, unauthorized activity, and potential hazards.
Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors in accordance with site policies.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities in clear and timely reports.
