About The Position

Under limited supervision, the Security Officer provides access control to help ensure the safety and security of areas within the P&G plant, administrative building, and offsite warehouse. The role requires excellent customer service, including greeting and checking in visitors and interacting daily with the public, employees, and client leadership. The officer also performs administrative and clerical tasks for the client and helps protect work sites, personnel, and assets. The position involves executing post orders and company and client policies, conducting foot patrols, monitoring access and traffic, processing visitors and badges, and preparing activity and incident reports. Officers may monitor CCTV, assist during emergencies, and perform other duties as assigned. Schedule and hours vary according to business needs; the position may become full-time when an opportunity is available.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to proficiently speak, read, understand, and write English.
Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for daily transportation to and from the work site.
State of Louisiana Unarmed Security Officer License, or ability to obtain one.
Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including a drug screen, criminal background investigation, and post-offer physical.
Mature judgment and behavior, and a professional manner demonstrating honesty, integrity, and ethics.
Ability to communicate respectfully with visitors, coworkers, vendors, supervisors, managers, customers, and client representatives.
Ability to provide clear directions and respond appropriately.
Basic phone and computer skills, including email, texting, and two-way radio use.
Ability to work under pressure, independently, and as part of a team.
Ability to work a varying schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.

Responsibilities

Execute post orders and enforce client and company policies, rules, and regulations.
Guard property against damage, fire, theft, and unauthorized entry.
Conduct periodic foot patrols of buildings and grounds, checking doors, windows, and gates.
Search people, vehicles, buildings, and other assigned areas.
Interact courteously, respectfully, and professionally with the public and customers.
Process visitors and produce access badges.
Monitor traffic and parking.
Operate and monitor CCTV equipment when required.
Perform rescue functions at accidents, emergencies, and disasters when asked.
Maintain composure and control in all situations.
Communicate effectively over radio channels.
Interview people to detect violations and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism, and accidents or incidents; report irregularities to management.
Write Daily Activity Reports and Incident Reports.
Assist management and law enforcement officials in emergencies, including apprehending unauthorized persons on the property when appropriate.
Maintain work areas and personal appearance to required standards and comply with dress code and uniform requirements.
Report accidents and injuries promptly.
Work attentively and safely, maintain confidentiality and professionalism, and follow safety and operational procedures.
Participate in safety meetings, training, and hazard assessments.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance and attend required company or job training.
Perform Lead Security Officer or Sergeant responsibilities when requested, and carry out other assigned duties.
