About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to serve and safeguard clients at a logistics and distribution location in Edison, New Jersey. The role focuses on access control: managing site entry, verifying credentials, monitoring access points, and supporting screening procedures. The officer maintains a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents and provides customer service and clear communication to employees, visitors, and drivers. The schedule is Wednesday 11:00 PM–7:00 AM, Thursday 10:00 PM–6:00 AM, and Sunday 6:00 AM–2:00 PM. The pay rate is $19.05 per hour.

Requirements

• At least two years of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience.
• Access control and badge experience.
• X-ray screening experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and employees by following site-specific access-control procedures and policies, and carrying out emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, and maintain visitor and vehicle access records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, escalating issues to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the perimeter.
• Report suspicious activity, damaged access equipment, and policy violations to help deter unauthorized access and support orderly operations.
