About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Patrol Officer in West Valley City, Utah, to monitor and patrol a campus and help maintain a secure, welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The officer conducts routine and random patrols, remains visible to deter incidents, responds to security concerns, and provides customer service. The role includes carrying out site-specific security procedures and, when appropriate, emergency response activities. The schedule is Monday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM and Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The pay rate is $23.64 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable law.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A guard card is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to campus community members, visitors, and staff by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and report maintenance issues, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications according to site requirements.
