About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer to patrol a residential community in Coney Island, New York. The officer will monitor residential property areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents and visitors. The role includes routine and random patrols, monitoring access and visitor activity, reporting security concerns, responding calmly to incidents, and providing clear, professional customer service.

The schedule is Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The pay rate is $17.00 per hour. Applicants must have a valid New York State Security Guard License and a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must be at least 18 for unarmed roles. Employment is subject to background investigation and, where permitted by law, drug screening. A driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to drug screening to the extent permitted by law.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency response procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, documenting observations and reporting concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, following established procedures for entry, deliveries, and resident or property management requests.
• Maintain a professional presence and communicate clearly with residents, guests, property personnel, and emergency responders as needed.
