About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time flex Security Officer in Tampa, Florida. The role provides a reliable base schedule at an assigned site, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. The assigned weekly shift requires a six-month commitment. Employees may increase or reduce their hours based on available shifts and their needs, with the possibility of building up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week.

The listed schedule is Sunday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The pay rate is $18.43 per hour. Work environments and conditions may vary by client site. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws.

Requirements

• At least six months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Access control and badge experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• A guard card or license.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and conduct emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and its perimeter.
