About The Position

Shriners Children’s Chicago is seeking a PRN Security Officer to support the safety and security of hospital staff, patients, families, visitors, and the general public in accordance with applicable city, state, and federal laws and regulations. The role also provides front-lobby assistance and responds to telephone and staff requests. This is a PRN day-shift position, with scheduled hours and days as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Illinois driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• One year of security experience.
• International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) certification.
• 20-hour PERC card.

Responsibilities

• Protect and serve patients, visitors, staff, and other people on hospital property.
• Protect the organization’s property and buildings.
• Greet and assist visitors, patients, employees, and medical staff at the front lobby desk in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Answer and route telephone calls, page people, and take messages as appropriate.
• Answer calls from hospital staff and respond to their needs or requests respectfully and promptly.
• Perform functions related to the safety and security of hospital staff, patients, families, visitors, and the general public in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
