About The Position

Shriners Children’s Chicago is seeking a Security Officer to help ensure the safety and security of hospital staff, patients, families, visitors, and the general public. The role performs security functions in accordance with applicable city, state, and federal laws and regulations. This is a PRN day-shift position, with scheduled hours and days as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Illinois driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• One year of security experience.
• International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) certification.
• 20 Hour PERC card.

Responsibilities

• Protect and serve patients, visitors, staff, and other people on hospital property.
• Protect the organization’s property and buildings.
• Greet and assist visitors, patients, employees, and medical staff at the front lobby desk in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Answer and route telephone calls, page others, and take messages as appropriate.
• Answer calls from hospital staff and respond to their needs or requests respectfully and promptly.
