About The Position

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is hiring a Security Officer – Level 2 in Redondo Beach, California. This position is 100% onsite and does not accommodate telecommuting. The officer patrols industrial premises to protect property and personnel from fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other hazards. The role works first shift, including weekends; shifts may change based on business needs. Travel is 10% of the time. An active Secret clearance is required at application, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval within a reasonable period.

The salary range is $43,400–$72,300. Depending on the position, employees may also be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus. Relocation assistance is not available.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years of additional education and/or related experience.
• Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval within a reasonable period.
• Ability to climb a ladder.
• Valid government-issued driver’s license.
• Ability to operate and drive a company security vehicle.

Nice To Haves

• Current California Guard Card.
• Active Top Secret and/or SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Guard and conduct campus patrols to protect property and personnel against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other potential hazards.
• Periodically patrol the premises and examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
• Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of company and personal property on campus.
• Inspect company equipment to determine whether tampering has occurred.
• Report security irregularities.
• Respond to active alarms and medical emergencies.
• Permit authorized personnel to enter company property.
• Examine credentials of people seeking access to restricted areas.
• Issue temporary employee and visitor badges as required.
• Direct traffic on company premises when needed.
• Operate a company vehicle.
• Perform various escort duties on campus.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
