About The Position

This position is responsible for the physical security of the facility. Assignments may be at walking or stationary posts, depending on location. The role involves inspecting and controlling people and vehicles entering or leaving the facility. The shift runs from 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM, Sunday through Thursday, with Friday and Saturday off. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Applicants must have a valid driver's license and pass a background check. A résumé is required. This position does not offer sponsorship. Internal candidates are considered first: qualified employees at this facility, then candidates from other Tyson facilities, followed by external candidates. Internal disqualifiers include six attendance points or any suspension on record within the last 12 months.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Must pass a background check.
Basic computer skills.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in stressful situations.
Must be able and willing to work in hot and cold temperatures, which depend on the outside climate.
Must be able to work independently under supervision and have a positive work ethic.
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
Investigative skills are helpful but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

Check identification of visitors, vendors, contractors, and Team Members and admit only authorized personnel.
Inspect carry-in items, including bags, briefcases, toolboxes, and lunchboxes.
Write investigative reports.
Conduct preliminary investigations of accidents, thefts, workplace violence, and other incidents as needed.
Rove or walk through plant areas to check facility security.
Log truck traffic entering and leaving the facility and inspect motor vehicles driven into the plant.
