About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Armed Security Officer to support an aerospace and defense location in Troy, Alabama. The officer will help safeguard the site by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible security presence, conducting inspections, and providing customer service and communication. The position pays $20.20 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The role requires an active DoD Secret Clearance and participation in industry-specific security training. Applicants must be at least 21 years old for armed roles and have a high school diploma or equivalent. A background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen are conditions of employment. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and may need to be met before employment. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

• Possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors while following security procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and applicable emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, follow established protocols, and notify appropriate site contacts or emergency services.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, restricted areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and document entries, incidents, observations, and security concerns according to site procedures.
• Maintain armed post qualifications, equipment accountability, and professional conduct in accordance with applicable laws, Allied Universal policies, and site requirements.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
