Security Officer Temple Bike Patrol
About The Position
As a full-time unarmed bicycle patrol officer at an educational location in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, you will help safeguard students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the campus community. The role involves routine foot and bicycle patrols, monitoring access points, supporting access control operations, and helping maintain a welcoming and secure environment. You will provide customer service, respond professionally to incidents and requests for assistance, and document activity according to Allied Universal and site requirements. The scheduled shifts are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The pay rate is $18.30 per hour.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- The ability to ride a bike for long periods is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus community members while following security procedures and site-specific policies.
- Participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, critical situations, and requests for assistance; notify campus contacts or emergency responders as directed by site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed foot and bicycle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
- Monitor access points and campus activity, and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, suspicious behavior, and policy violations.
- Prepare clear and accurate reports and maintain activity logs, incident documentation, and communication records.
