About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer to safeguard clients across industries including healthcare, education, and finance. Officers use a shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts according to their availability, building a flexible schedule while gaining experience at different sites. The role may involve irregular shifts with little or no advance notice.

The officer patrols assigned areas, monitors for security or safety concerns, controls property access, responds to incidents, and assists customers, employees, and visitors professionally. The officer also maintains required written logs and makes emergency notifications according to site Post Orders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Any required state or local licensing must be obtained prior to employment, where applicable.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Must pass a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen.
• At least 18 years of age, or older if required by the state; 21 years of age if armed.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly, informatively, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork.
• Attention to detail.
• No prior experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators about rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to help prevent theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary according to site Post Orders.
