About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a commercial building in Bayport, New York. The position pays $19.07 per hour and provides a designated site and weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment. Employees may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with the option to build up to 40 hours per week and scale back when needed. The listed schedule is Sunday, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM.

The officer provides customer service and performs site-specific security procedures, access control, patrols, and emergency response activities. The role includes monitoring building access, maintaining records, responding to incidents, and reporting security concerns and hazards.

Applicants must meet the stated age and education requirements and are subject to background investigation and drug screening as permitted by law. State or local licensing may be required. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by following site-specific security procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, shipping and receiving docks, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to identify unusual conditions and deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, maintain required access records, and direct individuals according to site policies.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate site contacts and complete required incident documentation.
• Observe workplace conditions for security concerns and report hazards or equipment issues to designated personnel.
• Support orderly operations during shifts.
