About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer at a retail distribution center in Chicago, Illinois, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify authorized access, and monitor activity to support a secure environment. You will provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, drivers, and delivery personnel; communicate clearly; and respond to security-related concerns. The position is scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at a rate of $18.50 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to associates, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Monitor access points and verify credentials for authorized personnel, visitors, vendors, and drivers entering or leaving the distribution location.
Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and delivery records according to site-specific access-control procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, escalating concerns through appropriate channels.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
