Security Officer - Casino Security - Grave Shift
About The Position
Under the direction of Security Department supervisors and managers, the Security Officer provides basic security coverage to help protect patrons and team members. The role safeguards the organization’s assets, as well as those of guests and team members, and promotes an outgoing, friendly, guest-oriented demeanor. The work takes place in a hectic, fast-paced, often crowded and noisy casino environment, with possible exposure to secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and frequent contact with the general public. The position requires standing for up to eight hours and communicating effectively with guests in English.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of guest service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to stand for up to eight hours.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests in English in connection with the position’s duties and responsibilities.
Nice To Haves
- Previous casino or hotel security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide security for transfers of money within the casino and hotel areas.
- Assist patrons with inquiries and situations, provide information about the property and events, give directions, and escort patrons when necessary.
- Prepare detailed incident reports in a clear and precise manner.
- Patrol hotel and casino areas, establish a security presence, and report unusual situations or suspicious persons.
- Assist in coordinating and resolving emergency situations.
- Assist in maintaining proper key control.
- Support responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate managers of concerns and observations.
- Perform other related and compatible duties as assigned.
