About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed patrol officer at a shelter in New York, NY. The officer will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and contribute to a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The role includes customer service, professional communication, responding to security concerns, and following site procedures. The scheduled shifts are Monday and Sunday, 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM.

Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Possess CPR Certification.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers while carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations, following reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of shelter grounds, building exteriors, common areas, entry points, and perimeter areas; identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor activity according to location policies.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
