About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed Security Officer for a logistics and distribution location in Torrance, California. The officer will help safeguard the site, maintain a visible presence, monitor and patrol assigned areas, and support a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and drivers. The role uses customer service and communication skills and requires documenting activity with computer or tablet tools. The position pays $20.80 per hour and is scheduled Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Employment is subject to applicable background investigation and drug screening requirements. State or local licensing may be required before employment; a valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter.
Monitor access points and observe the movement of personnel, visitors, and vehicles according to site-specific requirements.
Document observations, incidents, and irregular conditions in required reports and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
