About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer in Elwood, Illinois, at a logistics and distribution location. The officer will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and help maintain an orderly environment for employees, visitors, and deliveries. The role requires providing customer service and supporting security operations through teamwork, integrity, and a reliable approach. The schedule is Monday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Friday and Saturday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The pay rate is $19.85 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any licensing requirements applicable under state or local laws and regulations, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific security procedures and policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor and driver entry, and maintain required access-control documentation.
Screen incoming and outgoing personnel, vehicles, and deliveries in accordance with site requirements, and report discrepancies or unauthorized access attempts.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following established notification and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access areas, loading docks, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
