The Security Officer checks in visitors, patrols and monitors an assigned area, reports and documents suspicious activity, and investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property. The officer contacts law enforcement or the fire department during emergencies, escorts unwelcome parties off the premises, and performs other related duties as assigned. The role requires the ability to work flexible schedules and meet applicable state security-officer licensing requirements. The posting describes full-time and part-time positions.

Requirements

• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
• Ability to communicate using a phone or handheld radios.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Able to work flexible schedules.
• High school diploma, GED, or 10 years of verifiable work experience.
• Drug-free before beginning work; refusal to submit to testing results in disqualification from further employment consideration.
• Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Able to meet state licensing requirements for Security Officers, if required.
• Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.
• Ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods.
• Ability to stand and observe property surroundings for prolonged periods.
• Ability to twist and bend at the waist frequently.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience is a plus, but not required.
