About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer at a commercial real estate location in Chicago, Illinois, you will help safeguard tenants, visitors, staff, and property. You will maintain a visible presence, monitor and patrol assigned areas, respond to concerns, and provide customer service while representing Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity. The scheduled hours are Thursday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The pay rate is $19.75 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and property staff by carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly and constructively to incidents and critical situations, communicating with property management, emergency services, and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, building entrances, parking facilities, loading areas, and the property perimeter.
Monitor access points, visitor activity, and building conditions according to site procedures, reporting unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and provide clear handoffs to incoming personnel.
