Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, behavioral concerns, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols of the facility, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and visitor activity; verify access authorization in accordance with site policies and maintain accurate daily activity reports.
  • Support a welcoming and respectful environment for individuals with developmental disabilities while maintaining awareness of security-related concerns and escalating issues to appropriate personnel.
