About The Position

Sagewood is hiring a full-time nighttime Security Officer to help ensure the safety and security of residents, guests, and staff. The role includes monitoring and patrolling the property, escorting or assisting residents and guests, and responding to emergency medical situations. The officer will use EMT skills to triage situations and provide CPR and/or first aid as needed. The role also includes protecting community assets and handling minor emergency maintenance. The position is based at Sagewood, 4555 E. Mayo Blvd., Phoenix, Arizona. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with the option to pick up additional nights and weekend hours. Pay is $22.00–$25.00 per hour, plus a $2 per hour night-shift differential. A flu vaccination is required, and employees must comply with the employer’s COVID-19 vaccination policy.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One year of security experience.
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
CPR, BLS, and First Aid certifications before the start date.
Ability to obtain an Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Arizona DPS unarmed guard certification; the employer can assist with obtaining it.
Flu vaccination is required.
Compliance with the LCE COVID-19 Vaccination Policy is required.
Ability to communicate effectively and calmly in spoken and written English and make rational decisions in critical situations.
Ability to walk inside and outside the campus and stand and/or climb stairs for approximately 75% of each shift.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and transport residents via wheelchair or other devices for up to 250 pounds.
Manual coordination to operate telephones, radios, computers, and other business equipment.
Normal vision and hearing.

Nice To Haves

Arizona EMT certificate; Arizona licensure is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Monitor and patrol the Sagewood property to help protect residents, guests, staff, and community assets.
