About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer in South Hackensack, New Jersey, you will serve and safeguard clients at a logistics and distribution location. In this access-control role, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, monitor access activity, maintain a visible presence, deter security-related incidents, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, and support a welcoming environment.

The position is scheduled for Friday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The pay rate is $19.05 per hour. Additional shifts may be available through the company's Claim a Shift platform.

Requirements

• At least two years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with access-control and badge systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, drivers, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access credentials, maintain visitor and driver logs, and direct people to appropriate check-in or staging areas.
• Respond calmly and effectively to access-related incidents, unauthorized-entry concerns, and critical situations, following established site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, parking areas, trailer yards, loading docks, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities according to Allied Universal and site reporting requirements.
