As a Security Officer Flex Gated Community Access Control in Newport Beach, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and/or visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorizations, maintain visitor logs, and report unusual activity or access concerns to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while supporting property policies and security-related procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Assist with reporting, documentation, and communication related to daily activities, incidents, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations observed during the shift.
