About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a healthcare setting in Spruce Pine, North Carolina. The position provides a designated site and weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with the option to work up to 40 hours per week and scale back when needed. The listed pay rate is $17.85 per hour. The scheduled shift is Friday from 1:00 AM to 7:00 AM.

Requirements

• Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Be able to work in a hospital morgue.
• Be able to restrain individuals as needed.
• Have at least six months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements; a license may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, building perimeters, parking areas, and access points.
• Assist with access control, visitor management, and monitoring entrances and restricted areas.
• Accurately document observations, incidents, and unusual activity, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
