Security Officer - Experience Needed
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed patrol Security Officer at a retail distribution location in Northlake, Illinois. The officer helps safeguard clients, employees, visitors, drivers, and associates by conducting patrols, monitoring access points, supporting traffic flow, and maintaining a visible security presence. The role involves communicating professionally, using computer or tablet systems to document observations, and responding calmly to incidents and other security concerns. The scheduled shifts are Monday 3:00 PM–12:00 AM, Thursday 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, and Friday 3:00 PM–12:00 AM. Pay is $20.00 per hour.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- Comfort using a computer or tablet.
- Customer service experience.
- Access control and badge experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and associates by following security procedures and site-specific policies, and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond professionally and calmly to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations; document observations and report issues to appropriate site contacts.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the distribution facility, parking areas, loading docks, trailer yards, entry points, and perimeter to identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
- Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for employees, contractors, vendors, and delivery personnel according to site procedures.
- Assist with vehicle, pedestrian, and delivery traffic flow.
- Maintain accurate logs, complete reports, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site management.
