About The Position

Armorous is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a construction site in Berkeley, California. The officer safeguards the property, deters criminal activity, and helps ensure safety through hourly tours, access control, and checks of entrances and exits. The role requires vigilance, sound decision-making, and effective communication when handling security incidents. The schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:59 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., for 21 hours per week, with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts. Compensation is $21.00 per hour.

Requirements

Valid BSIS Guard Card.
Current BSIS compliance, including an 8-hour Initial Training Certificate and 32-hour continuing education certificates.
Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
Experience working graveyard shifts and ability to remain vigilant during night shifts.
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to remain alert, responsive, and proactive in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

Check the IDs of incoming patrons.
Conduct routine patrols and hourly tours to monitor and secure the designated location.
Check guests in and out and control access to the property, including checking entrances and exits.
Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and unauthorized access.
Maintain a visible presence to deter criminal activity and support public safety.
Respond to incidents and provide support in emergencies.
Document daily activities, incidents, and observations accurately in reports.
Communicate security updates and concerns to supervisors and team members.
