About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for retail warehouse access control in Riverhead, New York. The position provides reliable hours at an assigned site, with a designated weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment. Officers may also claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with the opportunity to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week and scale back as needed. The hourly pay rate is $19.00.

The scheduled shifts are Saturday and Sunday, 2:15 PM to 10:00 PM. The role involves customer service, security procedures, unarmed patrols, monitoring access points, responding to incidents, and preparing reports in a retail warehouse environment.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, members, and visitors while following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the store, receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas; assist with access control and visitor interactions; and observe site activity according to established procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports of incidents, observations, and security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
