About The Position

As a full-time unarmed overnight patrol Security Officer in University City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, you will safeguard clients in a higher education setting. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. You will provide customer service and communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors, responding to security-related concerns with integrity.

The role involves patrolling campus buildings, academic areas, residence-adjacent locations, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas. Work environments and conditions may vary by location. The schedule is Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The pay rate is $20.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state or local laws and regulations prior to employment.
• Have a valid driver's license only if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other campus community members by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, campus concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence-adjacent locations, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor for unusual activity, access concerns, and maintenance-related hazards, and promptly report observations to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control, visitor directions, and campus event coverage while maintaining a professional, customer-focused presence.
