About The Position

Northeast Security, Inc. is hiring full-time Security Officers for positions in Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville, Massachusetts, across first, second, and third shifts. The listed pay rate is $23.00 per hour. Positions are contingent on applicant eligibility and availability, successful completion of background and drug screenings, and completion of orientation. Positions may be rescinded if background requirements are not met. Security Officers patrol and monitor assigned premises, respond in person to emergencies and requests for assistance, observe and report suspicious activity, and help address security breaches. The role involves constant foot patrol and outdoor monitoring in all weather for most of the shift, responding to people experiencing quality-of-life issues, and de-escalating difficult calls or access requests. Officers use technology to monitor alarms and security footage, dispatch personnel as appropriate, communicate with authorities when needed, answer incoming lines, and prepare detailed incident reports. They follow site post orders and operations manuals and may conduct incident investigations. Officers must be able to work independently and as part of a team, remain alert and active, and maintain a calm, professional, customer-focused approach.

Requirements

At least 2 years of security experience.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
At least 18 years of age.
Computer literacy, including experience with MS Windows, Outlook, and OneNote; ability to use multiple screens.
Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to remain alert and active, with most of the shift spent on foot.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to respond to emergencies involving people with quality-of-life issues such as homelessness and addictions.
Ability to de-escalate irate tenant or customer calls and access requests.
Neat and professional appearance; dependability and reliable transportation.
Ability to work individually and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Successful completion of required pre-employment background and drug screenings.
Strong customer service, attention to detail, problem-solving, professionalism, and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

Conduct foot patrols and monitor assigned premises, including outdoors in all weather conditions.
Respond in person to emergency situations, threats, and requests for assistance, and evaluate appropriate courses of action.
Monitor alarm signals using technology and respond or dispatch security personnel according to the standard operations manual.
Answer incoming lines and communicate with local law enforcement and fire departments as necessary.
Observe and report incidents, suspicious activity, irregularities, and security breaches.
Write daily detailed incident reports and properly complete and submit forms associated with patrol duties.
De-escalate irate tenant or customer calls and access requests.
Review security footage and conduct incident investigations when required.
Work independently and with a team to respond to incidents; remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
Comply with the on-site operations manual and post orders, and perform other duties as required by the client or Northeast Security, Inc.
